Welcome to THE SCOOTERSHED’S site..it is in the form a many blog pages, so please feel free to scroll thru and check us out.

Our idea, when contemplating opening a lifestyle business was to offer the people of Cairns and FNQ an alternative to mainstream transport, that is budget minded, yet reliable and longlasting for the user.

Our ‘point of difference’ is we offer ‘scooters for all ages’, from kids electric scooters to the biggest range of electric bikes in town, to mopeds and motorcycles and finally mobility scooters for the aged, infirm or disabled and can FIX them all.

Our overheads are VERY LOW, so we pass that on to you, with our pricing often being below big cities and certainly the best in this town.

Our website for instance is a blog, so I can chop and change it regularly, without having to pay huge $$$$’s for these changes.

Other savings we offer you are:
FREE NEW TYRE FITTING (we only recommend Pirelli tyres for your scoot.) Others will charge a substantial fitting fee! Includes bicycles & mobility scoots.
FREE BATTERY TESTING & FITTING. (The cheapest scooter batteries in town) We know batteries and always have fresh stock, charged and ready to fit.
SAME DAY SERVICE & REPAIR..Its really easy, your bike comes in, in the morning, its serviced or repaired and you take it home that afternoon..some servicing only takes an hour so its also while you wait. Sorry we don’t store bikes overnite. If you make an appointment to use our services and don’t show or advise us, it obviously means you don’t care and refusal to rebook may offend! Our workshop rates are the cheapest in town, so we are busy most times, and if you don’t show, some else misses out to…IT WILL COST YOUI MORE ELSEWHERE!

FIXED PRICE SERVICING. Scooters are very easy to service and we are realistic about our charges…Basic Service 50cc is $68, 125/150 is $78 this includes all logbook items and often much more…a simple drive belt replacement just $45 plus belt!!! A Royal Enfield service is just $89!

FREE RIDER TRAINING when you purchase a scooter from us. We have a unique 3 teir system that will get you on the road, quickly and safely, the rest is up to you. We are agents for Accredited Training and licence courses so come and talk with us about increasing those survival skills.

FREE COURTESY SCOOTER (you MUST book it at appointment time!) If your scoot is off the road or just in for a service, you can borrow our shop scooter, whilst we service yours. Available ONLY to those who purchase a NEW scooter from us.

ACCESSORIES often at cost price specials…see instore. Helmets from $79, jackets from $100 etc.

ULYSSES members get a cost + 10% rate on all accesories.

Another great year has passed, and despite the doom and gloom our fair town is enduring, we have had a pleasing year, with sales steady, service and repair busy as usual and promotions still achieving results.
Both Bonnie & I (greg) sincerely thanks all out old and new customers for thier patronage and we will see you next year as we continue to bring you the best in relaible, affordable transport….

New budget scooter next year from SYM…don’t buy anything just yet as this will be a good one, below $2000 rideaway.
New rules for Electric power-assist bikes and new models coming next year.
New ShopRider mobility scooters coming at even better prices than anyone in town.
New laws for Learner riders coming.

Sometimes, people do need a bit of help, and we at The ScooterShed are proud to be able to do this for warranted, genuine cases.
Pictured is everyone associated with helping us present Les from Weipa a brand new Shoprider Rocky, to help him get about, both at Gordonvale and hopefully in his return to Weipa.
Les is a big fella and needed a big scooter, so the ROCKY with its dual range motor will be able to handle those fishing trips he has planned.

Some said we would’nt make it, some said we couldn’t make, others wish we’d never made it, but here we are after 5 years of hard slog, over 500 bikes and scooters sold to the local area and we have great plans for the next 5 and beyond.
Upon reflection, why have we made it? The simple answer is we are fair dinkum about our products, prices and our customers, and will never give you any crap. We are what Wayne Leonards was 17 years ago and look at him now, the difference being our focus is solely on affordable, reliable, sustainable transport.
Its old school business and we will look after you, if you look after us. We are not a huge conglomerate with endless customers, we are happy to offer a personalised service and educate people how to really save money on transport and ride safely for a lifetime.

V Moto already has an electric scooter in production and being used woldwide, called the E-Max.
Its an all electric scooter perfect for Cairns and is NOW available at The ScooterShed for sale.
Governments, police and councils are using these vehicles extensively in Europe already, but not here…eh Cairns Regional (read regressive) Council!!!

These are strongly built chinese made scooters with Minarelli/Jog copy engines that are very cheap to repair or modify for better performance.
If your budget is tiny, then these are the scooters for you.
You need to come in store for these huge special budget scoots.

These cheapies are in HOT demand and may not always be available. We will do our best to have them, but sometimes supply is patchy and they sell out quickly. Available till sold out!
